Fish Tacos with Avocado Recipe
Here’s one for the hot sauce lovers who also happen to be Taco fans. These Fish Tacos with Avocado Cream provide a spicy, salty, and protein-fueled meal that brings out the power of various peppers. It is filled to the brim with protein. As a seafood-based dish, the tacos go great with our special hot sauces. To start putting together this piece of taco heaven, you will need the following.
For the Fish:
2 pounds of firm white fish (tilapia or any firm white fish)
1 seeded and chopped jalapeno
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 teaspoon of kosher salt
Juice from 1 lime
1/4 cilantro (chopped)
For the Cream Sauce:
1/2 an avocado
1/2 cup of sour cream
1 tablespoon of lime juice (about 1/2 lime)
1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt
1 chopped green onion
3/4 cup of cilantro
For the Taco Fillings:
8 flour tortillas
Hot sauce (we recommend either Sauce No. 23, Sauce No. 10, or Sauce No. 7)
Sliced green onions
Avocado cream sauce
Red or yellow pepper (thinly sliced)
Now it is time to start crafting this masterpiece for you and your fellow hot sauce lovers. First, preheat your grill to medium high heat. Then get a shallow dish. Whisk together the lime juice, hot sauce, olive oil, jalapeno, cilantro, and kosher salt in the dish. Add the fish and turn to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. After that, you can start grilling it. Cook the fish for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily when using a fork.
Prepare the taco fillings and then put it aside. It is time to move on to the avocado cream sauce. For the cream sauce, blend the sour cream, avocado, cilantro, green onion, lime juice, and kosher salt until they are well mixed. Now refrigerate the mix until you are ready to eat. When ready to serve, flake apart the fish and use many pieces per tortilla. Then decorate with the toppings in whatever way you’d like, and boom! Taco Tuesday is ready to go!
